I'm buying fish for the freezer - what should I do?


With the pace of life accelerating by the day, we find that people shop less frequently than ever before. Increasingly, we cater for people who shop on a monthly basis. If this applies to you, don't worry about whether the fish you buy will freeze well, good quality fish will always freeze well and at Ward's Fish we offer a freezer service to ensure that the products which you purchase remain in good condition.

We offer a free vacuum packaging service on any sized order, which involves sealing your products in airtight packaging. The advantage of this system compared to normal bagging methods is that because the packaging is airtight, the risk of freezer burn is minimised. It is also extremely convenient as we can individually portion your order for you so that you can remove from your freezer exactly what you need.

We do recommend that when defrosting fish it should be done in a refrigerator and not in a microwave or at room temperature as this can impair the quality of the product. So place frozen packets in the fridge 24 hours before cooking.

If you ring in advance we can make sure your needs are met as fish quality and quantity can vary daily and is dependent on seasonal availability.
